Sticky Situation

I took off the plastic covering from my 2 year old laptop today. it was the
first time i had ever done something like that. i felt so rebellious…then my
mom came in my room and yelled at me to try and put it back on before it wasn’t

Rice Surplus

Recycle

I always re-use computer paper. I have several reams worth that I haven’t used, but I refuse to throw any of it away. I think my mom taught me, but not because she’s environmentally conscious, but just because she’s cheap.

Usually if I see a lot of Asians at an Asian restaurant, I feel reassured that the food’s good.

Things Got Hairy

I went to a hairdresser my mom recommended because she’s cheap. She was really rude, gave me a fobby haircut, and yelled in Cantonese at some guy who smoking outside before she started. I didn’t give her a tip… but mostly because she owns the place, and someone once told me you don’t have to give the owner a tip.

Put That Hello Kitty Band-Aid, er, Sticker To Work

Today I checked the account I have just for ‘wants.’ I have plenty of money to
buy that Hello Kitty rice cooker! Only problem is, I’m too cheap to. I think
I’ll just take my sister’s Hello Kitty sticker that she got from the doctor and
put it on my rice cooker. Oh yeah. MLIAsian!

Consumer Research

I spent more time comparing and shopping around for a rice cooker than a
microwave. It HAD to be just right – size, capacity, special cooking features
(did it include a steaming dish, measuring cup and ladle?) and color…of
course.

Mom Gets It Done

last week my mom and i went to go eat dim sum. they were out of ba lo bow, my
mom’s favorite. she had asked to speak to the manager and when he came to our
table, my mom flirted with him in cantonese…10 mins later, my mom got two
fresh orders of ba lo bow. it was disturbing, awkward, and very impressive.

Have: Ramen, Rice Cooker. Need: Food

I’m doing homework in my dorm and I’m hungry, I don’t feel like spending money
and there is nothing in my fridge.  What do I do??? Make ramen in a rice
cooker!!!!
