Chinese Elvis

About a year ago i went to a dinner to raise money for some organization in
taiwan. one of the performers they had was a chinese elvis playing country songs
in chinese…i had never been more happy in my life.

Dad Says to Own the Curve

Today, I got a 78 out of 70 on my math test. It was originally out of 70, but
my teacher curved the grade. I was so excited to tell my parents that I had
gotten more than 100 percent!! But when I got home and relayed the information
to my dad, he said in Chinese, “That’s it? Why couldn’t you get an 80 out
of 70??” He was serious.

Best Class Ever

Yesterday, In World Geography we started studying East Asia. When we were done
with our notes the teacher put on Chinese music videos for us to watch. Jolin
Tsai came on and I almost about jumped out of my chair in excitement.

Lost in Translocation

My Jamaican friend thinks that Japanese people and Chinese people are the same.
When I tell him that black people and Jamaican people are the same, he gets
offended. I don’t understand this.

Not Even Sisters

Today I was starting a new school with my friend. I’m Korean and she’s Chinese.
The whole day we were asked if we were twins and if we knew Asian. One time when
we were asked and said no, the kid went to his friend and said, “They’re
twins”right in front of us.
