Jackie Chan

This is the following conversation I had in Science. (Names have been
substituted.)

Person A and Person B chat quietly.
Person B: Person A wants to know if you’re a fan of Jackie Chan.
Person A: No I don’t!
My friend: That’s her uncle!
Me: (does not respond verbally but rather gives Person A a look evoked with
pity, semi-disgust and semi-bewilderment).

Apparently they just group us all together, and think we’re related just because
we’re Asian.

Twinsies

A few years ago, I was at a water park with a friend. We were getting lunch at
one of the food lines when one of the employees looked from me to my friend, and
back. She then asked, “Wait… you’re twins, right?”

Not From China, Not Related

I was eating dinner with my friend who just started this semester as an
international student from China, they asked if he and I were related, i grew up
in a town about an hour away from the university.
