<p><em>While I studying at Starbucks, a Dominican woman was speaking loudly and ended her sentence with &#8220;&#8230; like a Chinese person.&#8221; She then saw me, cursed under her breath, and sunk into her chair. While mingling at a friend of a friend&#8217;s apartment, I met a nice Russian guy who asked, &#8220;Where you from, China?&#8221; While ordering a $5 baked-chicken sub at Subway, the Indian employee paused while reaching for the lettuce. &#8220;You Chinese?&#8221; I&#8217;m Korean.
